Los Vélez → The North of Almería

The province of Almería Sierra de la Estancia Sierra Cabrera

The district, whose name comes from the impressive Sierra María-Los Vélez Natural Park, is located in the northernmost part of the province of Almería, bordering the neighboring provinces of Granada and Murcia.
The enclave in this environmentally significant location makes it a major tourist attraction. This northern province is very mountainous and has nothing to do with that of the other regions.
The vegetation is very lush, with large forests, contrasting with the dryness of the other areas of Almería. The location also influences the very rustic way of life, in direct contact with the surroundings, an attraction for visitors looking for peace and quiet.

How to get there: The northernmost district of Almería, which is the furthest away from the other parts of the province, has good connections to the neighboring provinces of Granada and Murcia.
From the city of the Alhambra you can reach the towns of Vélez Rubio and Chirivel almost directly via the A-92N. The Mediterranean highway A-7, on the other hand, passes through this region, allowing tourists to reach the district from Murcia or the beaches of the province.
