Tourist excellence is the hallmark of Roquetas de Mar. This route passes through important tourist centers such as Aguadulce, Playa Serena, and the tourist resort of Roquetas de Mar, as well as the Punta Entinas-Sabinar Nature Reserve and Natural Park, between Roquetas de Mar and El Ejido.
Although there is a direct route from Almería to Aguadulce via the highway, visitors are advised to take the scenic coastal road, which winds between the Sierra de Gádor mountain range and the sea. At the entrance to this important tourist center, small boats from the marina welcome us, just 10 kilometers from the city of Almería.
The people of Aguadulce attribute the name of the settlement to the freshwater springs that once existed on the seashore. Today, the calm sea laps the beautiful Aguadulce beach. Contemplating magnificent sunsets, accompanied by the sounds of the sea, becomes an unforgettable experience. Stroll along the waterfront promenade, experience the long nights at the café terraces, discos, and pubs, and enjoy the local cuisine... Leisure and fun go hand in hand in this little paradise on the Almería coast.

Other settlements are located in the immediate vicinity of ecologically valuable natural areas, such as the Cerrillos salt flats. Already exploited economically by the Muslims of Al-Andalus, they have been declared a Site of Special Interest for Birds (ZEPA), making them particularly attractive to birdwatchers and enthusiasts.
Adjacent to the Salinas is the Punta Entinas-Sabinar Nature Reserve and Natural Area, an ecosystem consisting of dunes, beaches, and lakes, where a diverse birdlife nests. With more than 200 recorded bird species and a flora composed of the sabine (Juniperus sabina) and the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus), this area represents one of the most valuable dune landscapes in Spain. To fully enjoy this natural spectacle, it is advisable to be equipped with binoculars.
Another example of the natural wealth of these coasts is the Barrera de Posidonia reef, unique in Andalusia. This is an uninhabited coastal strip whose seabed is home to valuable meadows of the Posidonia oceanica species. It is therefore not surprising that this area has been declared a Natural Monument.
