Movies shot in Almería → Movies made at Cabo de Gata

Many film fans will remember the large dunes through which Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, and Anthony Quinn rode their camels in Lawrence of Arabia.
These dunes are still a major attraction in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. For the most spectacular scene, where a train was blown up, two
trains were purchased from the Spanish railways and a 2.5 km long railway line was built.

This landscape also attracted John Lennon, who starred in the film How I Won the War and later rented a beach house for his 26th birthday
celebration with Beatle Ringo Star. San Miguel de Cabo de Gata was transformed into an Arab village for the film Patton, where a series of air
raids on the village were filmed, while the dunes were transformed into a cemetery. The crucifixion of the hero from the film Conan the
Barbarian was also filmed here. The underwater shots of the film Never Say Never Again, as well as some scenes from Indiana Jones,
were shot in Los Escullos and Mónsul Beach.
