Valle del Almanzora → Villages with charm

The towns that make up the Almanzora region, watered by the river that gave its name to this district, have in common the mountainous landscapes and
the natural, sometimes unusual, views that can be enjoyed especially from the castles and fortresses.
It is not uncommon to find small villages with bright white houses clinging to the slopes, forming a great step at the foot of the ravines or rocky
and arid hills. Some of them are like large viewing areas from which you have great views of the mountains such as Los Filabres or the Sierra de las
Estancias. Their charm and attractiveness are therefore guaranteed, as is their tourist interest with a view to any type of activity related to the
environment and nature: hiking, mountaineering, agritourism, climbing...

The walls, whitewashed every year as if it were a tradition, decorated with colorful geraniums and flower pots, are characteristic of places like
this, with narrow and winding streets where the tourist gets lost and the small artisan centers of ceramics, of esparto grass or brass, which still
exist today.
The peace and serenity that one experiences here is also crystallized in the customs, which will undoubtedly attract the attention of visitors. There
are villages that are so small that they don't even have a pub, which is why you can see the residents gathered in the village square at lunchtime,
drinking a glass of wine and eating a little something.
The cave houses are also typical buildings in these mountain villages, these are dwellings that are a major tourist attraction. They mix in the small
villages with low houses with slate or stone roofs. The surroundings are impressive in spring, when the almond and fruit trees are in bloom; the
landscape contrasts with the drought and harshness of some other regions of the district
